BIOMIMETIC SEALING

WHY DO TEETH BEING?

There are millions of bacteria in the oral cavity, including good and bad bacteria for caries. As the concentration and frequency of sugars and refined carbohydrates in the oral cavity increase, or micronutrients become trapped between the teeth, caries-causing bacteria predominate and the various organic acids they produce begin to dissolve the tooth material.

Caries initially makes the enamel perforated, in this state the enamel can be remineralized / reinforced with various special techniques to avoid filling the teeth. However, if cavities are already formed in the teeth, biological remineralization is no longer possible. In such cases, immediate filling of the teeth is necessary.

The teeth are covered with enamel on the outside and the sensitive dentin and gingival chamber are found on the inside. As long as the caries only affects the enamel, the tooth is not sensitive, possibly an unpleasant mouth odor may be the first symptom to appear.

Once the caries has reached the dentin, the teeth may be sensitive to sweet, cold, heat. After eating, you experience food stuck between your teeth and an unpleasant mouth odor . If dental care is delayed, caries spreads further in the dentin and can reach the gingival chamber, which can cause astonishingly severe pain, this is called gingivitis. Unfortunately, in this case, the tooth needs root canal treatment.

I ask that if you notice any symptoms of caries, see your dentist so that minimally invasive filling therapy can be started in time.

HOW CAN I RECEIVE CUTTING?

The corrugation must be drilled and filled or filled.

WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN FILLING AND INSERT?

The filling restores less, the inserts restore more severe tooth loss.

The filling is made by the dentist in one session, the insert in two sessions: In the first session, the cavity is drilled and an impression is taken, in the second session the dental technician sends the missing tooth in the form of an insert and glues it.

WHAT IS BIOMIMETIC DENTISTRY?

The outer surface of the teeth is covered with enamel, the inner part consists of dentin. When restoring teeth, not only do we need to consider creating a beautiful aesthetic filling, but we also use a filling material that most closely resembles the lost tooth tissue in function and properties.

The damaged dentin surface is a special fiberglass composite filling material that most closely resembles the dentin tissue, which has a good coefficient of elasticity and prevents the propagation of cracks in the tooth.

The damaged outer enamel surface is replaced with a hard, brittle microhybrid composite filling similar to enamel, which can provide maximum aesthetic results due to the effect of the chameleon and the layer technique.

The composite filling is attached to the tooth tissues by an adhesive technique, which provides an extremely reliable stable biological connection.

BENEFITS OF BIOMIMETIC DENTISTRY

  • biomimetic restoration ensures that the color, shape and biomechanical properties of the restored teeth are as close as possible to those of the original teeth

  • amalgam free

  • it is done in one meeting

  • 3 years warranty

DISADVANTAGES OF BIOMIMETIC DENTISTRY

  • longer preparation time than a traditional aesthetic filling

CONTRAINDICATION FOR BIOMIMETIC DENTISTRY

  • when caring for deep caries under the gums, the moist environment of the gums inhibits the maximum binding force of the aesthetic filling, in such cases the lack of teeth must be restored in a complex way: by means of gingival crest lifting or crown extension

  • if the teeth are congested, a stable contact point can often only be established with an inlay

  • in case of large loss of tooth material, if the tooth cannot be biomimetically restored with a filling or inlay, we recommend making a crown

WHAT IS AN AESTHETIC INSERT (INLAY, ONLAY, OVERLAY?

The aesthetic insert is a filling that can be used to fill large gaps (pre-crown condition). A special cavity is made in the tooth for the insert, an impression is taken of this and the insert is worked out by a dental technician in the laboratory. The finished insert is fixed in the tooth during the second meeting by adhesive technique in cofferdam isolation.

It is necessary to make a deposit in cases when there is already a significant loss of dental material. If, in such a case, the tooth would be restored with a traditional aesthetic filling, it would be over time

BENEFITS OF AESTHETIC INLAY

  • biomimetic restoration ensures that the color, shape and biomechanical properties of the restored teeth are as close as possible to those of the original teeth

  • amalgam free

  • option to prevent crown replacement

  • 2 year warranty

DISADVANTAGES OF AESTHETIC INLAY, OVERLAY

  • In case of a large loss of tooth material, the tooth cannot be properly biomimetically strengthened and restored with the aesthetic filling, in which case we recommend making an insert.

  • two meetings are needed to be finalized

CONTRAINDICATION FOR AESTHETIC INALY, OVERLAY

  • when caring for deep caries under the gums, the moist environment of the gums inhibits the maximum binding force of the aesthetic filling, in such cases the lack of teeth must be restored in a complex way: by means of gingival crest lifting or crown extension

  • in cases where due to the high degree of destruction there is no longer enough tooth surface for adhesive bonding, we recommend making a crown
